In Tuesday's interview, Borisov spoke highly of the cabinet's work, saying that it “achieved a lot for one year,” and that it “fulfilled all commitments.”
Borisov was completely confident that given the cabinet's performance, it will serve its full 4-year term in office, which ends 2013.
Bulgaria's PM stressed on his government's attested readiness to reforms, as well as openness to dialogue and consultation with all stakeholders.
He pointed out efforts and results in infrastructure projects such as roads and Sofia's underground train system.
Borisov was resolute to continue the judicial reform and the fight against organized crime.
The PM made a special point of emphasizing support for a positive assessment of his service in office coming from international evaluations, such as the EU Commission's recent progress report on Bulgaria, and statements by US institutions and international financial agencies such as Standard and Poor's.
Borisov also commented on his political adversaries and partners in the domestic scene. Regarding chief opposition party, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, he recalled that it is the oldest functioning party in Bulgaria, recalling it is a serious opponent. He characterized Ahmed Dogan, the leader of the rival Movement for Rights and Freedoms, as “the most treacherous political adversary possible,” in a familiar turn of phrase. Borisov further expressed satisfaction at joint work with the rightist Blue Coalition, saying they are a competent and reliable partner.
